Workforce Development

Workforce development enhances a region's economic stability and prosperity. The main objective is providing human capital to fill positions within a business. Effective programs develop strategies to fill current and future career opportunities and support local growth.

Over time, workforce development has evolved from a problem-solving approach to a more holistic approach. Now, the practice considers both participant's many barriers and the overall needs of our region.

At the Steuben County EDC (SCEDC) we work in this area as a conveyor of resources.  From business development and job creation to employment training and continuing education, SCEDC works in several areas of workforce development. We leverage experience and expertise in this area to help organizations and government agencies develop and administer high performing workforce development programs.

Two of our initiatives are the Workforce Taskforce Committee and the Made in Steuben Event.
