Retention and Expansion
SCEDC commits to a proactive business-retention strategy that involves meeting with over 100 businesses each year. During these meetings and conversations, we assess trends, challenges, and opportunities that businesses and their respective industries face. The information gathered through this assessment process is used to shape programs, inform policy makers, and continuously refine economic development strategies.
The proactive assessment process also identifies and enhances businesses with expansion plans. SCEDC follows up with the businesses to ensure their access to the many resources and services available through SCEDC and other economic development partners in the region.
