Made in Steuben Event

Made in Steuben Event:

The Made in Steuben Event is an event that was created to showcase local manufacturing for the purpose of enhancing the perception of manufacturing, increasing awareness and pride of our manufacturing community and educating area youth on manufacturing career pathways.

There is an increasing demand for highly skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector who can design, program and operate technology. Manufacturing Day is designed to introduce young people and others in the community to the manufacturing sector and career opportunities, and demonstrate the contributions manufacturing makes to the local economy. More information is available at www.mfgday.com.

In October of 2017, the SCEDC hosted its first Manufacturing Day event. Seventeen area manufacturers and four area schools – who sent over two hundred students! – participated in this event, as well as Freedom Academy, Ivy Tech, and the Questa Foundation. Activities included presentations, mock interview workshops, and an Expo scavenger hunt to encourage dialogue and interaction.
